Mechanic - Topeka CC

Topeka Country Club is a private, member owned facility located in Topeka, Kansas. The course opened in 1905 and throughout its history has been host to numerous prestigious events and hosted the Kansas Amateur for the 13^th time in July of 2024. The club recently underwent an extensive renovation of the golf course that included new bunkering, tee complexes and a major tree project that concluded in the late fall of 2023.

Topeka CC is seeking a full time Mechanic to join the team at this historic facility.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for preventative maintenance and service of all golf course equipment including vehicles, tractors, and all grounds equipment required to maintain the facility.
Keeps accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules and parts orders and invoices within budget parameters.
Inspect, diagnose and repair of equipment mechanical issues of golf course equipment.
Grinding, backlapping, and adjustments of rotary and reel type cutting units
Overhaul and repair of automotive and other power equipment including but not limited to gas and diesel engines, braking systems, transmissions, hydraulic systems and other related equipment systems
Assists management to train staff in safe operation and inspection of equipment
Performs other duties as needed and assigned by management
Assists in purchase of capital equipment purchases
Maintain shop in a clean and orderly manner

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a mechanic, prior golf course experience a plus
Understanding of golf course operations. Working knowledge of gasoline, diesel and electrical equipment as well as adjustments and repair
Computer and office administrative duties as required by management
Valid Driver’s License
